Also known as:
Japanese name : Spiker
European name : Mantazoid
Sekta consists of:
1 Head Assembly (Clamshell 3 pieces Top, Bottom, and Mouthpiece)
1 Small wind up motor
1 Label Sheet
The build begins with placing the motor and neck pieces inside the right and left sides of the main frame. The frame is then secured by two caps.
Next the left and right side axles are aligned and covered by body plates each secured with three caps.
Next the cross bars are place on each side axle tab.
A total of four legs are affixed to the body via one cap per leg.
The two front claw arm appendages are placed, and two cannon pieces are affixed to the back of the unit.
Next the clam shell cockpit is assembled, pilot seated, and the Mantis is ready for display.
Sekta is an interesting piece that paved the way for other Mantis like Zoids that would follow. Although the specific design was not copied in later releases, the Mantis concept lived on through pieces like NJR Dematis and Blox Power Mantis. The claw arm appendages are not secured via anything but a peg which makes them easy to lose, and prone to extensive wear successfully making Sekta unable to be properly posed or displayed.
